Food Service / Convenience Store Renovation
When member Carrel Epling of the Jefferson Art Guild (JAG) asked JAG to donate a new sign to the Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) for their administrative offices on Clearview Parkway in Metairie, JAG members enthusiastically approved. Terry Marks of GM Signs created a beautiful new sign and Chris and Lois Wilken of Buckeye Contractors, Inc. fabricated a sturdy new frame and coordinated delivery to the site with Dennis Assaf, JPAS Executive Director who secured the sign in place. Jan Wilken spearheaded and completed the project by painting the frame to match the sign.
This latest venture helps mark JAG’s 20th year in existence as a nonprofit community art organization. During this time, JAG sponsored children’s art events during Jeff Fests, painted a design for the wave pool in Lafreniere Park and provided art exhibits to be enjoyed during Fall Concerts in the park. Last year’s community projects included painting a 40’ logo for ZataraIn’s in Gretna and re-furbishing a 40’ plus mural for the Jefferson SPCA’s training room. JAG is pleased to have so many generous and talented members who share their talents and make it possible for JAG to be a such a good neighbor to the community.
